London law firm Howard Kennedy is pleased to announce that it has successfully advised on the acquisition of the third battery energy storage project for Atlantic Green UK Ltd, a joint venture between Interland (25%) and Nofar Energy (75%). The new project (260 MWh), which will add to the success of the Cellarhead (700 MWh) and Buxton (60 MWh) projects, brings Atlantic Green UK’s total energy storage capacity to over 1 GWh in the UK.
Atlantic Green is a strategic leader in the UK energy storage market bringing innovative and sustainable solutions to meet the needs of the UK power market. The latest project adds further capacity to store clean energy and feed it into the national grid during periods of high demand, stabilising the grid and supporting the integration of renewables into the energy mix.
