Probate and administration of estates

We deal sensitively and efficiently with the administration of estates process from start to finish. Our team has extensive experience administering estates ranging from simple UK estates to high-value, complex estates with assets in a variety of jurisdictions.  Our in depth tax knowledge also allows us to recognise where it is possible to carry out further tax planning after death.

We act for executors and trustees appointed under the terms of a will and administrators where there isn't a will.

Our team of experts will explain the process to you in language you'll understand and will manage the information gathering process. 

We prepare the documents required to obtain probate, including the Inheritance Tax account and Statement of Truth. We'll make the application for the Grant of Probate (or Letters of Administration), in the UK and will work with local lawyers other jurisdictions to ensure that the any requirements to deal with assets overseas are completed. 

After probate has been granted, we assist with dealing with the assets and liabilities of the estate as you need us to. We'll liaise with HMRC where necessary and assist the executors with paying legacies and making distributions from the estate. 

We'll prepare the estate accounts and are well placed to organise any tax returns required for the administration period.
