Howard Kennedy’s Banking team offers expert, clear and pragmatic advice on your financing requirements, whether you are a lender, borrower or investor.

We simplify and explain challenging and complex legal issues, and provide you with the right advice at the right time.

The Banking team constitutes the firm’s core finance resource for general banking advice including often complex, multi-jurisdictional, event driven secured transactions. Our team routinely handles the negotiation, structuring and documentation of commercial loan transactions for banks and borrowers. Loans range in size from small business loans with routine terms to multi-million syndicated credit facilities.

Our lender clients consist of clearing banks, challenger banks, private banks, short term and bridging lenders, development funders, funds and private lenders. Our borrower clients include a range of large and smaller corporate entities including PLCs, substantial corporate groups, private businesses and individuals both in the United Kingdom and overseas.

Our skilled lawyers are experienced in acting on complex UK and cross border-finance transactions involving senior, mezzanine and bridging lenders and are well versed in negotiating complicated inter-creditor issues.

We support clients with leveraged and investment grade financings (both syndicated and bilateral), asset based financing (ABL and receivables), refinancings, and fund finance matters, while also advising on equipment leasing, margin lending and banking products, and restructuring.
