Sam Murray-Hinde advises employers on workplace issues and employment tribunal proceedings, with a particular specialism in trade union disputes and collective bargaining.  She speaks fluent German.

Sam is a solicitor with broad experience across all areas of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious. She works closely with the transport and sport industries.

She works hard to achieve the best possible outcome for employers by providing commercially-focused, industry-specific advice, with an increasingly international focus.  Working with businesses, HR professionals, boards, and Insolvency Practitioners, Sam advises on legal strategy to minimise litigation.

Sam works with clients across a wide spectrum of employment issues to include employment status, contract negotiations, TUPE, redundancies, re-organisations and employee exits, to name but a few. She is well-versed in handling complex grievance and disciplinary matters involving discrimination and whistle-blowing allegations.  She has also developed a specialism in advising foreign Embassies on matters relating to state immunity.

Sam is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the German-British Chamber of Commerce.

  • Advising a foreign Embassy on tribunal claims brought against it.
  • Defending a transport client in a tribunal claim for protected disclosures and sex discrimination in the midst of media interest due to the salacious nature of the allegations.
  • Advising administrators on the employment aspects of a high profile business sale, drafting the relevant warranties and indemnities in the agreement, and advising on TUPE and minimising litigation risks.
  • Advising an executive on the terms of his exit from a large well-known retailer, negotiating a deal worth over £1m.
  • Advising an Olympic governing body on an internal safeguarding investigation.
  • Sitting as Chair on a disciplinary panel for an Olympic governing body.
  • Assisting a coach facing disciplinary proceedings, to include successfully appealing an FA interim suspension order.
  • Providing strategic advice to a transport client with a large unionised workforce on the implications of developing case law on holiday pay.
