About

Rebecca Wyke is a senior associate in the dispute resolution team specialising in commercial dispute resolution.

Rebecca advises corporate and private clients in the UK and internationally on commercial disputes across a range of sectors. She acts on a wide variety of commercial disputes in English seated arbitrations and in the English Courts, including cases involving breach of contract, civil fraud, negligence, shareholder, joint venture and partnership disputes and jurisdictional conflicts.

Rebecca acts as Deputy Registrar of the Scottish Arbitration Centre alongside her role at Howard Kennedy LLP.

Recent work

  • Acting for a state in an ICC Arbitration responding to a claim valued at US $300 million by a multinational oil and gas exploration company.
  • Assisting a company in relation to its multi-billion dollar intended Bilateral Investment Treaty claim against an African state.
  • Acting for an individual defending a High Court claim against him for alleged breach of warranties, breach of non-competition provisions and/or fraudulent misrepresentations by him in the sale of his 100% shareholding in an online school company founded by him to a large education conglomerate.
  • Acting for an agricultural product wholesaler in a dispute subject to determination by the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) Arbitration.
  • Assisting a company in an ICC Arbitration relating to the execution of an engineering, procurement and construction contract with an agency of the government of an African country for the construction and redevelopment of hospitals and their medical stores with a contract value of over USD100 million.
  • Acting for a US-based broker and investment bank in a claim in the London Circuit Commercial Court against a Polish real estate company for breach of an English law contract.
