Katy has over 15 years of experience providing legal advice in serious and general crime and extradition. She is well versed with court procedures and processes, reviewing and analysing evidence, and identifying risk. Katy is also experienced in training and coaching other members of staff.
Katy is experienced in compassionate client care, particularly with vulnerable clients in mental health. Katy is skilled in communication, evidence analysis, and court procedures. Katy is familiar with legal processes, medical records review, and advising clients from police station to court. Katy has managed diverse caseloads, including high-profile cases. Presenting with charity focusing on mental health in the sex industry, Katy is a strong advocate for human rights. She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives since 2009.
- She has independently dealt with numerous cases including murder, attempted murder, rape, GBH, fraud and extradition.
- A murder case, that appeared on the BBC - The Met: Policing London.
- Represented a youth joint charged with three others where it was alleged that two women were subjected to a homophobic attack on a London bus.
- Represented clients with Mental Health and complex needs.
- Conducted a case involving multiple counts of money laundering.
- Represented a client who was under heavy surveillance and charged with fraudulent evasion of the duty chargeable on certain goods, namely a quantity of cigarettes, which involved a high volume of case papers.
- Represented a client charged with four counts of drug-related offences and possessing criminal property, this case also included my client raising a defence of modern slavery and an NRM referral.
- Extradition cases involving Articles 2, 3 and 8 Human Rights Act.
- Represented an interested party under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 upon an application by the CPS for the appointment of an Enforcement Receiver.
Katy is a keen Fightklub member and attends regular classes, she is a football mum, which takes up most of her weekends. She has previously followed football club Dagenham and Redbridge around the country.
