London law firm Howard Kennedy has acted for leading global provider of integrated solutions in the fields of printing and communications, Toppan Inc. (“Toppan”) on the acquisition of GlobaLexicon Ltd. GlobaLexicon’s US subsidiary and representative office in Spain were included in this multi-jurisdiction, cross-border transaction.
GlobaLexicon is a leading provider of language solutions to the market research, analytics, life sciences, healthcare, financial services and other sectors, with operations in the United Kingdom, Europe and North America.
Toppan Digital Language Ltd ("TDL") was the buyer and is a subsidiary of Singapore-based Toppan Leefung PTE Ltd, which is a member of the Toppan group whose ultimate parent is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Headquartered in London, the company specialises in navigating and de-risking complex and high-profile language projects with tech-enabled and customised solutions. The acquisition is in line with TDL’s objective to become the leading provider of language solutions for regulated and business critical content through a combination of strategic acquisitions and organic investment.

Toppan Leefung PTE Ltd is a new client for the firm but a long-standing client of Jonathan Polin. The transaction engaged the firm’s Corporate, Tax, Employment, Commercial & IP and Real Estate teams.
