We're proud to announce that the ICC has selected Duncan Bagshaw as Vice-Chair of the Arbitration and ADR Committee. His nomination follows his appointment to the committee last year.

Duncan, a distinguished barrister, partner and head of the firm's International Arbitration group, brings a wealth of expertise, particularly in the energy sector and cases involving African parties and states. His trailblazing roles as the first Registrar of both the Mauritius and Scottish International Arbitration Centres underscores his profound impact on the field. With this new position, Duncan is set to further elevate the standards of international arbitration and dispute resolution.

The Committee is dedicated to enhancing the promotion of ICC arbitration and dispute resolution services, fortifying connections with the ICC’s main office in Paris, and providing improved support to the ICC Arbitration Court. Under his leadership, Duncan will build on the great work of the former Vice-Chairs to make ICC arbitration and ADR in the UK ever more effective, representative, and useful for businesses and users.

In response to his appointment, Duncan said: "It is an honour to be appointed as a Vice-Chair of the ICC UK Arbitration and ADR Committee. I feel very fortunate to have the chance to build on the great work of the former Vice-Chairs, and to work with Guy Pendell, Chair, and Samantha Rowe, fellow vice-chair of the Arbitration and ADR Committee, to make ICC arbitration and ADR in the UK ever more effective, representative and useful for businesses and all users. We are in fantastic company with the other members of the UK Committee and I'm keen to get to work."
