A Howard Kennedy team of Ian Ryan and Melanie Zwennes represented Martin Blackburn is his successful defence against charges of failing to properly investigate an incident involving a former London managing partner at Baker McKenzie and failing to report the managing partner's conduct to the SRA. Mr Blackburn, the former Head of Human Resources at Baker McKenzie, was acquitted of two charges of misconduct by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.

Ian Ryan, Partner at Howard Kennedy, said, "This result confirms what Mr Blackburn said when he was first contacted by the SRA as part of its investigation, namely that he acted professionally and appropriately in accordance with established HR principles at the time."

Martin Blackburn was also represented by barristers Jonathan Laidlaw QC and Lewis Macdonald from 2 Hare Court.
