About

Ahmed Mian is a solicitor specialising in both non-contentious project matters and dispute resolution. He advises a range of clients including, developers, funders, contractors, consultants and service providers on various commercial and construction-related matters.

Ahmed has experience of drafting and advising on bespoke and standard forms of contract including JCT, NEC, RIBA and LOGIC agreements in relation to building contracts, professional appointments and other contract documents.

He has also assisted clients with adjudication, litigation and international arbitration. His experience encompasses an international dimension having assisted with disputes in the UAE and East Asia.

Prior to joining Howard Kennedy, Ahmed was seconded to the global engineering firm, SNC-Lavalin and also worked with the in-house legal team at the leading insurance broker, Griffiths & Armour. 

Recent work
  • Acting for a development manager in litigation relating to the wrongful termination of an asset and development management agreement. Dispute valued in excess of £12 million.
  • Acting for a high-net-worth individual in relation to defects arising following the insolvency of the main contractor.
  • Drafting bespoke amendments to the JCT building contract in relation to fit-out works at Battersea Power Station.
