She advises on succession planning which includes drafting bespoke wills for high-net-worth individuals and advising on other tax related matters. This is usually in relation to safeguarding assets and wealth from creditors, matrimonial claims, and the application of succession regimes such as the forced heirship rules.
She advises individuals and trustees on relevant tax reliefs such as inheritance tax business relief, agricultural property relief and capital gains tax main residence relief.
Yousafa also advises on the creation and setting up of offshore trusts. She helps the beneficiaries and trustees of offshore trusts to ensure optimum tax efficiency. This involves working with foreign lawyers to co-ordinate the advice.
She regularly works with international families advising on residence and domicile issues including the statutory residence test. Yousafa's practice includes advising on the taxation of UK residential and non-residential property owned by offshore structures.
