Sean Field-Walton is experienced in all aspects of employment law and typically advises companies, executives, and senior individuals.

Sean is a solicitor in Howard Kennedy's Employment team. He works closely with clients on the full range of Employment Tribunal matters including unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, and unlawful deductions of wages claims.

He also has a wide range of experience advising on all other areas of employment law , including high stakes situations. Examples include advising a company on internal investigations following the discovering of a multi-million pound fraud and the CEO of a listed company on an imminent boardroom coup.  

He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and both the LGBT+ Lawyers Division and the Junior Lawyers Division of the Law Society.

Recent work
  • Defending a client against whistleblowing, constructive dismissal, and unfair/wrongful dismissal claims and assisting counsel throughout a five day hearing.
  • Enforcing confidentiality and post-termination restrictions, particularly for clients in the financial services sector.
  • Assisting retailers and hoteliers with small and large scale redundancy exercises including collective consultation.
  • Negotiating senior (predominantly board) level service and settlement agreements.
  • Advising on GDPR issues including privacy notices and the abusive use of subject access requests.
  • Acting for buyers and sellers in M&A transactions including reviewing sale and purchase agreements, negotiating warranties and indemnities, conducting due diligence and preparing due diligence reports.
  • Advising on the Alternative Investment Market Initial Public Offering (IPO) of a City law firm which was, at the date of admission, the most oversubscribed IPO of a UK law firm to date.
