VIEW ALLRufus is an Associate in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team at Howard Kennedy. He advises on complex, high value disputes across High Court litigation, arbitration and judicial review.
He has experience acting for corporates, directors and individuals across a range of sectors, including energy, finance, defence and real estate.
His work often involves matters with significant commercial and reputational exposure, including multi party disputes and claims with an international dimension.
Rufus’s recent experience includes acting as a key member of a team on a £100 million negligence claim against former directors involving complex issues of company governance and construction in the waste to energy sector, and acting as sole associate on a £50 million London real estate dispute which settled shortly before trial.
He has also acted on a judicial review against the Secretary of State for Defence arising from an RAF helicopter crash and advised on arbitration and mediation proceedings across a range of commercial disputes.
Rufus trained at the firm and has experience across disputes, planning, private client and corporate matters. Alongside his practice, he sits on the firm’s Innovation and Environment Committees and is an active member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association.
Rufus was selected to be in the LawInSport Mentee Programme. The programme selects 28 young lawyers, from 12 different countries, to be mentored early in their careers by industry leading sports lawyers.
