Philip has many years’ experience advising on all elements of the UK tax system, as it relates to business and property transactions, together with the tax treatment of trusts and non-UK domiciliaries and other individuals with an international aspect to their affairs, both on a stand alone basis and by way of supporting corporate and real estate colleagues in implementing on-going transactions.  Philip also has an interest in VAT, particularly as it applies to property transactions, and is a member of the VAT Practitioners' Group.

  • Advising on the UK tax aspects of the proposed acquisition of a non-UK company with UK property investments
  • Advising on the tax implications of property de-enveloping transactions, in the light of proposed IHT changes
  • Advising a non-UK resident individual as to the UK tax implications of a proposed move to the UK
  • Tax aspects relating to acquisitions of high value UK residential properties, including ATED and SDLT issues
  • VAT issues in connection with commercial property transactions and business transfers.
