Louise Bennett:

Partner: Head of Commercial Litigation

Louise is a litigator in the Dispute Resolution department. She has a broad range of experience in commercial dispute resolution, advocacy, mediation and alternative dispute resolution. She has acted for many commercial clients, including partnerships and companies, both in the UK and internationally. Louise’s expertise focuses on corporate disputes (shareholder and partnership), breach of directors duties, and civil fraud (usually on a international scale).

Louise is a member of the Association of Women Solicitors, and the Commercial Fraud Lawyers Association.

Recent work

  • defendants who were on the receiving end of a search and seizure Order and Freezing Injunction on the alleged fraudulent retention of more than £290m of the company’s money
  • a shareholder in an unfair prejudice petition. The claim related to breaches of corporate law, including allegations that the company was utilised for personal enrichment and unlawful activities, involving allegations of money laundering, fraud and corruption
  • directors of a company in liquidation, who were being sued for various fraudulent offences, together with claims for dishonest assistance, breach of trust, knowing receipt, and claims for both lawful and unlawful means conspiracy
