Howard is an equity partner at Howard Kennedy. Further to a business career, Howard has practiced as a specialist labour and employment lawyer for nearly all of his professional career. He is instructed by both corporate and individual clients for strategic and commercial advice in relation to executive hiring’s and terminations and boardroom/shareholder dispute issues with a view to achieving a practical and commercial outcome without litigation. His client base includes corporates, senior executives and employees of many industries including financial services, professional services, retail, media, recruitment and sport. He also provides regular advice to international businesses in the UK who are starting up an enterprise from scratch or acquiring a business.
Howard’s work includes drafting and reviewing service agreements and contracts, consideration of breach of contract, unfair dismissal and immigration issues, restructuring and downsizing. He has significant experience in the area of employee competition and restraint of trade including advising on team moves, employee/director duties and confidential information.
In addition to helping develop Howard Kennedy's international practice, Howard is involved in various business development initiatives both internally and externally and he is the relationship partner for many clients of the firm both inside and outside the labour and employment department.
Outside of work, Howard loves football, music and history, plays badminton and cycles. He is a lifelong supporter of his beloved Arsenal Football Club. He hopes that CDs will still be available for a while yet and that the Kindle will not replace books. Otherwise his judgment is extremely sound!
