As Director of Risk and Compliance and a member of Howard Kennedy's Executive Board, Hinesh is responsible for the firm's risk and compliance arrangements. He works closely with the firm's Management Committee and all Business Services Heads, to ensure robust and effective compliance arrangements are in place.
Hinesh is an accomplished risk and compliance professional with over 20 years of experience helping organisations navigate complex regulatory environments and strengthen their governance frameworks. Since beginning his career in the field in 2006, he has built extensive expertise across risk management, regulatory compliance, governance, operational resilience, and controls assurance.
His experience includes working for the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and several leading global law firms, where he has advised on and implemented risk and compliance strategies across multiple jurisdictions. This diverse background has provided him with a deep understanding of both regulatory expectations and the practical challenges faced by international organisations operating in highly regulated environments.
Hinesh and his team ensure that they identify emerging risks, enhance governance practices, and embed effective compliance frameworks that support strategic objectives. He is recognised for his pragmatic and collaborative approach, balancing regulatory requirements with commercial needs to deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
His areas of expertise include regulatory risk management, compliance and ethics programmes, regulatory change management, policy governance, operational resilience, conduct risk, and control effectiveness. Throughout his career, Hinesh has been passionate about fostering strong risk cultures, building high-performing teams, and enabling organisations to make informed decisions with confidence.
Known for his ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, Hinesh combines technical expertise with a strategic mindset to help organisations achieve resilient, sustainable growth while maintaining the highest standards of governance and compliance.
Hinesh enjoys spending time and traveling with his young family. He enjoys following all sports, particularly Football and Cricket. Hinesh is also a drummer, playing traditional Indian drums as well as acoustic drums.
