About

Brendan Udokoro is a senior associate specialising in disputes and litigation concerning or connected to wills, trusts, the estates of deceased persons, and all other inheritance and post-death related disputes.

Brendan advises clients on the resolution of a broad range of estate and trust-related disputes, including applications for the removal of executors and trustees, trustee-beneficiary disputes, challenges to the validity of wills and claims brought under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975,.

Brendan qualified as a solicitor in May 2018, having trained at a leading regional firm in Kent. He joined Howard Kennedy in August 2022 and was promoted to associate in May 2023.

Recent work
  • Acting for the representative of a class of discretionary will beneficiaries, in a claim concerning the estate of a high-profile architect, following a Public Trustee v Cooper application for the approval of the distribution of the will trust.
  • Acting for a deceased's adult daughter in defending an Inheritance Act claim and successfully reaching a favourable settlement.
  • Advising the residuary beneficiaries in a probate dispute arising following allegations of lack of capacity and undue influence.
  • Acting for the litigation friend of a minor discretionary beneficiary in an Inheritance Act claim.
  • Negotiating a successful settlement between a father, son and daughter-in-law in relation to the beneficial interest of a property.
  • Successfully obtaining judgment for a client in relation to a complex petition for an Insolvency Administration Order at the High Court, defended by the executor of the estate on the grounds of jurisdiction.
