Anoushka Nehra is an associate specialising in trust and estate disputes. She represents clients in a range of domestic and international disputes concerning wills, trusts and estates.
Anoushka is an associate in the Trusts and Estates Disputes team. She advises both claimants and defendants in a full range of complex estate and trust-related disputes, including:
- Will challenges
- Trust and estate administration disputes
- Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Applications for the removal of executors and trustees
- Court of Protection disputes
Anoushka read Law with French Law at university, and has an intermediate proficiency in French. She has experience working on a number of cross-border disputes.
Anoushka is undertaking the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) course for qualified solicitors. She is also a member of ConTrA, the Contentious Trusts Association.
- Acted for the Deceased's minor children in defending a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) 1975 intimated by the Deceased's partner. As part of the settlement, the partner was removed as a discretionary beneficiary of the Deceased's Will trust.
- Acted for a beneficiary of an estate in a dispute with co-beneficiaries over whether an asset belonged to the estate or devolved under the terms of a lifetime trust.
- Acted for the Deceased's nephew in a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) 1975 Act seeking provision from his uncle's estate on the basis that his uncle had financially maintained him during his lifetime.
- Acted in an application to remove a trustee who lacks mental capacity under s.41 of the Trustee Act 1925
- Acted in an application to the Court of Protection to make substantial gifts on behalf of an individual who lacks mental capacity.
In 2023, Anoushka went head-to-head with barrister Shaun Wallace on The Chase.
