Angharad Hughes is a barrister and Senior Associate specialising in criminal and regulatory law, fraud, financial crime, FCA and SFO investigations, private prosecutions and high-value cases, delivering advocacy led and result driven advice. 

Angharad previously practised at the independent Bar, bringing substantial courtroom experience and advocacy-led insight to complex criminal and regulatory matters. She advises individuals and corporates across all areas of general crime and has particular expertise in fraud and financial crime, often in high-value and sensitive cases. She also has significant experience in private prosecutions.

She is known for providing clear, measured and commercially astute advice, and for approaching matters with intellectual rigour and creativity to achieve effective outcomes for clients.

Committed to promoting social mobility at the Bar, Angharad founded the Griffin Access Programme (GAP), Gray’s Inn’s pro bono initiative supporting aspiring barristers from underrepresented backgrounds. She developed GAP after serving as Director of Vocalise, which is a separate programme which teaches parliamentary debating to prisoners.
