Howard Kennedy client Kevin Neal successfully concludes disputes against former Premier League footballers

"Expertise sport hero football.

A Howard Kennedy team of Mark Stephens, Tim Bignell and Vernon Dennis represented Kevin Neal in the successful conclusion to his dispute with a group of former Premier League footballers including Robert Lee, Steven Stone, Warren Barton, John Beresford and Paul Kitson.

Those footballers made accusations against Mr Neal to the media, which were subsequently published, concerning services received by them in relation to their investments. They had made the accusations in separate legal proceedings which were never served on Mr Neal and had become invalid against him. Despite this, they irregularly obtained a default judgment which they also did not serve on him. These accusations and the resulting media coverage were damaging to Mr Neal’s reputation.

The footballers have withdrawn their claims against Mr Neal, and the default judgment set aside with no order as to costs. They have also agreed not to bring any other claims against Mr Neal in respect of these matters.
