Howard Kennedy strengthens their Chambers HNW rankings

The Private Wealth group has received a number of recognitions in the recently published Chambers High Net Worth 2021 guide.

This builds on the firm's growing presence in the private wealth sector, helping HNW clients to navigate through all aspects of their business and personal lives. 

The firm's wider Private Wealth group features strongly in this year's guide, evidencing their ability and expertise to meet the legal needs of the most sophisticated of clients. This year's rankings highlight our reputation in family law, immigration, property acquisition, tax and estate planning, private client disputes and financial crime. For the first time the guide also recognises our work advising private clients in the Middle East.

Our Private Wealth Disputes team led by Naomi O'Higgins and Emily Mailer improved their team moving from Band 4 to Band 3 with a source adding "Howard Kennedy has 'an extremely good team' that 'takes on the most wonderful work.' The group's cases include Inheritance Act claims, will challenges and Court of Protection matters".

Newly established Partner Reshmi Manekporia has been ranked for her Foreign Expertise in Middle East-wide & Private Wealth Law knowledge in United Arab Emirates. With Chambers researchers quoting "Manekporia is highly regarded for her experience advising high net worth clients in the Middle East, with particular expertise on Shari'a-compliant planning. One commentator reports: 'I would definitely recommend her. She has great technical expertise and knowledge of the region.'"

Pervaze Ahmed and Antonia Torr have both improved their rankings this year. With Pervaze moving from Band 4 to Band 3 in Real Estate: High Value Residential and Antonia progressing from an Up and Coming to Band 3 in Immigration: High Net Worth Individuals.

Head of Private Wealth, Liz Palmer maintained her Private Wealth Law ranking alongside Private Client partners John Annetts and Simon Malkiel. Sources quote the team as "a cohesive service and are very collaborative. They are one of my go-to firms in the private client space. The team is well equipped to advise affluent individuals and families on a range of private wealth matters". 

Lois Langton maintained her Family/Matrimonial: High Net Worth ranking with sources saying: "She is fantastic, she is very dynamic and very creative. She is always thinking about new solutions and is very hands-on with clients, very supportive and empathetic." A barrister also notes: "She is extremely clever, she's a very good tactician and her client care skills are second to none."

Ian Ryan also maintains his ranking in Financial Crime: High Net Worth Individuals with a source adding: "He knows his stuff and he has a good practice for high net worth clients." Another says: "I think he is very straightforward, I am happy when I see him on cases because I know he's direct, clear and understands strategy."

Chambers High Net Worth ranks the top lawyers and law firms for international private wealth, based on recommendations by fellow professionals and clients. The guide also recommends leading accountancy firms, private banks, wealth managers, trust companies and other professional advisers to HNW and UHNW clients around the world. The 2021 guide is the sixth year of the High Net Worth rankings.
