Howard Kennedy listed in Chambers HNW Guide 2023

The Howard Kennedy Private Wealth group has achieved a record number of new rankings in the newly released Chambers High Net Worth Guide 2023.

The firm received 13 individual rankings, along with 4 team rankings in the latest guide. The guide ranks the top lawyers and law firms for international private wealth, based on recommendations by fellow professionals and clients. The firm's Private Wealth group features strongly in the this year's guide, evidencing their ability and expertise to meet the legal needs of individuals and families: from family governance to divorce, tax planning to trust and estate disputes, immigration to art & cultural law the results cover the full mix. The guide also highlights the firm's work advising affluent clients in serious domestic and international fraud cases. 

The Trusts and Estates disputes team maintained their ranking in the Private Wealth Disputes category with clients saying "Howard Kennedy are extremely good at handling complex and sophisticated matters. The Partners and Associates are extremely high-quality." Head of the team, Naomi O'Higgins was again listed alongside Emily Mailer as a top ranked lawyer. Monika Byrska was newly ranked as 'Up and coming' with Tom Deely maintaining his Associates to watch ranking. 

The Wealth and Succession team partners John Annetts, Liz Palmer, Simon Malkiel and Reshmi Manekporia maintained their rankings in the Private Wealth Law category. With Simon moving up a band and Reshmi being listed, as a lawyer with 'Foreign Expertise based abroad in UK'. The team were praised by the industry for "Howard Kennedy quickly gains a good understanding of what is required, assesses the depth and level of service required, and adapts to fit the client's needs and sophistication."

Our Business Crime team have kept their ranking in Financial Crime: High Net Worth Individuals category. With team head, Ian Ryan and Senior Associate Jennifer Harper, retaining their rankings. This year Kyle Philips was newly ranked as 'Up and coming' with clients saying "The team are professional, efficient and bring innovative thinking to complex legal points which arise in cases. They have a methodical approach to case preparation which, coupled with the considerable experience of the team, allows them to rapidly get on top of the most challenging factual and legal issues with ease and confidence."

Lois Langton continues to be ranked in the Family/Matrimonial Finance: Ultra High Net Worth category. With a client saying "Lois is very tactical and absolutely brilliant with clients. She has a calming influence, always pragmatic and never dramatic. She inspires utter confidence, as she is incredibly knowledgeable and is always on hand to deliver advice promptly."

We are delighted to have been ranked in the Art and Cultural Property Law category this year. They possess deep knowledge on the issue of cultural property law and resolution of cultural disputes, including international ones."

John Kiely, who joined the firm in January 2023 as our Head of Immigration, is newly ranked as 'Up and coming' in the Immigration: High Net Worth Individuals category. With a client saying "John Kiely is an expert on high net worth migration for UK inbound work, has a vast amount of experience dealing with an array of international clients and has a great experience dealing with lots of different cultures, which is very useful."
