Howard Kennedy expands its financial regulatory expertise with RPC hire

London law firm Howard Kennedy is pleased to welcome financial services regulation specialist James Kaufmann as a partner in the firm’s capital markets team to head the financial regulation practice.

James joins the partnership from RPC, where he built extensive experience advising on all aspects of investment funds and has significant experience in areas such as the regulation around blockchain and the Senior Managers & Certification Regime. While at RPC, James built a stellar reputation adopting a holistic approach to advising clients, from the establishment of managers and funds to business life-cycle events. Latterly, James’ practice has expanded to advising on cryptocurrencies and blockchain, and he has quickly become recognised commentator on key trends in the sector.Prior to RPC, James spent seven years in-house, including five as General Counsel and Head of Compliance at a leading fund platform and two as COO of an alternative investment fund. Additionally, James also served as Chief Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering Officer for FCA regulated firms for seven years.
