Mexico City is set to host the 2024 IBA annual conference from 15 to 20 September. Legal professionals from across the world, including private practitioners, in-house counsel, human rights advocates, judges, bar leaders, regulators, and government representatives, will gather for this significant event.
The Howard Kennedy team will maintain a strong presence throughout the conference. Our members actively participate in committee work, including the Family and Media Law Committees, as well as the IBA Human Rights Institute. We are looking forward to being involved throughout the week in what promises to be a very busy programme.
Mark Stephens, member of the IBA Management Board, will take the stage in the Human Rights session titled 'Bar Issues Commission Showcase: beneficial ownership.' Jessie Smith, our Family Law expert, will be sharing her insights at a session on the 'Distribution and recovery of luxury and eclectic assets upon death, divorce and otherwise'. And Liz Morley will be facilitating the Media Law Committee round table during the 'Hot Topics' session.
We are also pleased to welcome Jon Sharples to the Howard Kennedy team for the first time at the IBA Annual Conference. Jon is a commercial IP and art lawyer who specialises in helping clients leverage and protect their intellectual property and is known for his extensive expertise in the art world.
Ian Ryan, Head of Business Crime, will also be in attendance. Ian advises both individual and corporate clients in serious fraud and regulatory investigations as well as criminal matters.
