What did you do prior to joining Howard Kennedy LLP as a trainee?

My previous role was an Adjudicator for the Financial Ombudsman Service. My role involved analysing and weighing up evidence to reach a fair and equitable resolution. I was also a freelance political journalist with articles published across many sources, including and the Spectator.

What has been your best moment or your biggest challenge during your training contract so far?

I have embraced a wide variety of responsibilities since commencing my training contract. My best moment so far has been working on a high value personal negligence claim. I have also enjoyed getting involved on the business side of a law firm and contributing to the HK Sport sector.

What are your personal interests?

Politics, boxing and supporting the famous green and white hoops (Glasgow Celtic Football Club).

What is your top tip to candidates looking to apply for a training contract at Howard Kennedy LLP?

Focus on your strengths and emphasise how you can apply them to Howard Kennedy on everyday tasks on both the legal and business fronts. At interview, be yourself and avoid overused platitudes unless there is substance to them - if you are passionate about everything, are you passionate about anything?
