What did you do prior to joining Howard Kennedy LLP as a trainee?

Prior to joining Howard Kennedy, I was a paralegal at Temple Bright LLP. As the only paralegal in the office, my role was incredibly varied allowing me to experience and undertake work in a wide variety of legal practice areas. Supporting 20+ partners with their day-to-day tasks, attending client meetings, drafting legal documents and unpredictable workdays were excellent preparation for life as a trainee.

What has been your best moment or your biggest challenge during your training contract so far?

As a trainee, you are constantly being stretched. While occasionally taxing, the challenge is also immensely rewarding. My best moment so far has been being asked for my opinion on a matter by a partner, and genuinely feeling like my response was appreciate and taken into account. After years of law school, it's great to feel like you're finally in a position where you can be confident in your knowledge… At least some of the time!

What are your personal interests?

I enjoy reading, going to the theatre and cinema, baking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. I’m also an avid traveller, and love planning new adventures.

What is your top tip to candidates looking to apply for a training contract at Howard Kennedy LLP?
