Rebecca Stratton is a solicitor in the Commercial Dispute Resolution Team, who advises on both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters.

Rebecca advises insolvency practitioners, directors, business owners and individuals on all aspects of formal and informal insolvency procedures.

She provides advice to corporate clients looking to explore restructuring both in order to optimise and future-proof their business and in the event of financial distress.

Rebecca often advises directors on the impact of insolvency prior to formal proceedings being commenced. She also provides support to clients navigating situations where proceedings have been issued, and acts for creditors and debtors as well as office holders.

She has significant experience in assisting clients with debt recovery and pursuing enforcement action as well as judgement and award enforcement.

Recent work

  • Advising creditors in the liquidation of a high street jewellery brand franchise company.
  • Advising liquidators seeking to pursue claims against directors for breach of duties and under S.423 of the Insolvency Act 1986.
  • Advising commercial landlords on the impact of tenants entering into restructuring processes including Part 26A Restructuring Plans and Company Voluntary Arrangements.
  • Advising the directors of a property development investment company on a complex and multi-level group restructure.
  • Advising owners of restaurant businesses on the options available to them in times of financial difficulty, and implementing formal processes via appointing administrators or entering into CVAs where appropriate.
