Lauren's practice covers both contentious residential and commercial property matters. She acts for landlords and tenants, predominantly in the real estate, retail and leisure sectors and also for developers, private individuals and tenant organisations.
Lauren has extensive experience acting in residential matters for landlords and tenants in cases involving complex service charge disputes, breach of covenant matters, major works, forfeiture, lease variations, licences, possession, right of way, adverse possession and neighbour disputes.
For commercial clients, Lauren advises on business lease renewals, break notices, breach of covenant claims, service charge disputes, COVID-19 rent arrears, dilapidations, forfeiture and relief from forfeiture claims.
Lauren also works closely with our construction team on defective premises and cases involving the Building Safety Act 2022. Lauren has significant experience in building safety matters, fire safety advice, cladding claims, remediation works and costs recovery.
She has represented clients at numerous successful mediations and provides strategic advice to guide clients to commercial settlement. Her practice also involves litigating in the County Court, High Court, First-Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) and the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber).
Lauren qualified as a general advisor with the Citizens Advice Bureau in 2009 and maintains a strong interest in access to justice. She is also a member of the Property Litigation Association.
