Did you know
John Archer is a senior associate in the Banking and Real Estate Finance team at Howard Kennedy. He has 20 years' experience of finance law, advising on real estate and general corporate lending.
John is a solicitor advising funds, family offices and financial institutions on development and investment financings of real estate assets. He has particular experience of office-to-residential and mixed-use development financings and investment facilities in the office, retail, leisure and healthcare sectors.
John also acts for funds and other market participants on real estate asset disposals and on lending to companies for their general corporate purposes.
John is a pragmatic and accomplished transactional lawyer with experience of consulting in-house with banks in London and Frankfurt. He has also acted for an Islamic bank for a number of years on commercial facilities on commodity murabaha basis, and for investment banks and funds on the sale and purchase of debt participations in the secondary market.

- Acting for a family office on the negotiation of £10m-£90m loan facilities for the acquisition and development of large mixed-use residential and commercial development sites in London.

- Acting for investment banks and funds in the sale and purchase of bank debt in the secondary market by way of transfer and sub-participation.

John has completed eight Ironman distance triathlons, his favourite course being Ironman Lanzarote with its sea swim and incredible cycle loop around the island.
