Charlotte Towerton is a solicitor specialising in dispute resolution matters for all parties within the construction sector.
She acts for a mix of developers, funders, professional consultants, specialist sub-contractors, suppliers and purchasers.
Charlotte is involved in dispute avoidance advisory work and assists in litigation, mediation, adjudication and arbitration. She specialises in advising on:
- professional negligence
- loss and expense claims
- delay and disruption
- bond claims
- defects and final account claims
- issues arising out of contract determination and insolvency.
Charlotte also drafts bespoke contracts, development agreements and produces amendments to standard forms of building and engineering contracts.
She has extensive experience in contentious matters, having undertaken two litigation seats during her training contract and has three years prior paralegal experience in Commercial Dispute Resolution. During her training contract at the firm she undertook seats in Media Disputes, Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate Dispute Resolution and Construction.
Charlotte helps with the organisation and running of the firm's pro bono programme. She has acted in a number of employee unpaid wages cases, a sponsorship dispute and drafted a commercial partnership agreement.
Charlotte also co-chairs the firm's Social Committee and organises firm-wide social events.
