Alexandra Carr is a solicitor specialising in commercial and corporate disputes. She focuses on civil and commercial fraud, contentious insolvency, and regularly advises on the commercial aspects of trust litigation. She has experience in large international disputes, including onshore and offshore litigation.

Alexandra advises corporate and private clients on every aspect of a dispute. She has a broad practice, which includes commencing and defending claims, conducting internal investigations, and developing strategies for achieving settlement. She often works across teams on commercial dispute aspects and strategy.

She regularly acts for clients on breach of contract and breach of trust claims, while also advising on insolvency-related disputes and debt recovery for clients. On the business side, she advises on corporate and partnership disputes, including misfeasance and director disqualification proceedings.

As an experienced civil fraud lawyer, Alexandra advises on fraud prevention, issuing applications and claims in England and offshore jurisdictions for civil fraud cases. This includes urgent worldwide freezing injunctions, asset tracing, and issuing applications for disclosure orders against third parties and she has a particular interest in cyber fraud.

  • Harb v HRH Prince Abdul Aziz - Acted for the defendant at both the initial trial and retrial (and on the successful appeal) in a claim of an alleged breach of an alleged oral contract. 
  • Acting for an art business in a claim for fraudulent misrepresentation and breach of contract.
  • Acted for a foreign government entity in a complex arbitration in the London Court of International Arbitration.
  • Acted for an individual musician claimant in a successful Part 8 claim in the Chancery Division. 
  • Stokors SA & Ors v IG Markets Ltd & Anor- Successfully acted for the defendant, IG Markets Ltd, in the £90m alleged dishonest assistance proceedings.
  • Advised an international finance company in a £110m action brought against a syndicate of investors for breaches of contract.
  • Acted for an international trading company in recovering fraudulently transferred funds.
