Did you know
Alexander Wood is a solicitor in the Capital Markets team, specialising in investment trusts, VCTs, AIM and AQSE flotations, and regulatory work. Alexander also has broader M&A experience, assisting with takeovers and share purchases.
He assists VCTs and investment trusts with admission to the main market of the LSE. He represents both nomads/brokers and the listing entities in AIM/AQSE transactions, and offers regulatory advice on a wide range of matters. Alexander also assists the broader corporate department, drawing on his experience in corporate takeovers and share structure alterations.
He is dedicated to fulfilling client requirements and is often charged with presenting a solution to a rich variety of requests.
Alexander is also a keen member of the Sport group, Energy group and India group, writing regular articles and taking part in events.
He completed his training contract with Howard Kennedy in 2021. Prior to that, he gained experience working in-house for a large alcohol distribution company and as a paralegal in the firm's Real Estate department.
- Represented Unigel Group PLC in their corporate restructuring and subsequent listing on the AQSE Growth market.
- Assisted a Swedish-based company in its takeover of a UK business.
- Advised a well-known furniture brand regarding the sale of shares to a British multinational retailer.
- Worked with Octopus Investments Limited to launch, on the LSE's Main Market, their new ESG-focused VCT: Octopus Future Generations VCT PLC.
- Provided regulatory advice to a wide range of clients, which enabled them to act in accordance with FCA guidelines.
Alex's main interests are sport, travel and music. At the age of 16 he trekked through the Mongolian Steppes for 14 days on horseback.
