Picture of Christine Hereward Partner Christine Hereward joined Howard Kennedy in December 2007 as the Head of the Planning, Environmental & Public Law Department.

Christine brings a wealth of public sector planning experience to Howard Kennedy. She understands well the inside workings of local government and so is well-placed to provide tactical advice and secure clients' objectives. Christine is responsible for advising the firm’s substantial portfolio of property clients on planning related issues.

Christine represents Howard Kennedy within the Westminster Property Association. She is also a member of the British Council of Shopping Centres.

Prior to joining Howard Kennedy Christine spent three years as Head of Planning & Property at Westminster City Council. She was responsible for planning law matters within Westminster, acted as Solicitor to the Planning Committees and managed a large team of lawyers. Amongst Christine's own matters were Leicester Square, Middlesex Guildhall, the Wilton Plaza / Park House judicial reviews, Victoria Station re-development and an innovative Public Realm Agreement with Grosvenor.

Christine has also worked at the Greater London Authority, the City of London Corporation, the London Borough of Enfield and Lovells. She therefore has broad experience of planning within London and has also acted on projects nationwide for household names.

Christine is fluent in French.
